It's been so long since I've posted to my blog. I'm embarrassed!! I have been painting though. This is the latest painting. An abstraction of a horse in very ornate riding gear. This piece will be donated to the Mesa Art Center's 10x10 Show. The show's held every year to benefit the Mesa Art Center. The reception is always on October 10th. It's fun to see who selects your painting. Not fun, if no one selects your painting!!
Some personal and household issues have needed attention. Glad to be back in the swing with the paint brush.

"Dog Perignon" Acrylic 12x30 Gallery Wrapped Canvas
This charming little guy is the waiter in my previous post. His name is Buddy. His owner purchased this portrait of buddy, who is now nicknamed, "Wine Buddy". This was one of the first larger whimsical paintings I've done. I have to say, it's fun painting big. Hope you all enjoy seeing Buddy as much as I enjoyed painting him.

"Wild Ride" 12 x 16 Acrylic on canvas
This painting was done for a very dear friend. I want to paint this loose colorful style in more of my paintings. I'm so attracted to the colorful thick strokes. Trying to loosen up is a tuff thing for me to do. But, I think with practice it will become more natural. I have produced prints of this painting and will be making them available soon.

Pet Portrait: "Peanut" 11 x 14 Oil Pastel on Illustration Board
Peanut is a portrait of a papillon mix. He is a sweet little dog. Often times he stays with us for little vacations when his family is away. Peanut belongs to a family member.
"Mackey and Hurley" 16 x 20 Oil Pastel on Cradled Gesso Board
This portrait was a commission done for a wedding present to a wonderful couple. It's a portrait of course of their two dogs. The bride and groom are veterinarians. These two dogs were buddies from the beginning. Mackey, the bull dog survived a crippling condition in her back legs. With tender loving care, wearing braces and having personal physical therapy, she recovered and now walks and runs totally normal. Hurley is a rescue from a local shelter. He is a very happy, healthy boy and a great friend to Mackey. It was an honor to do this portrait for two very professional and compassionate people.
