Sheba Dog Portrait 9x12 oil on canvas

I took a photo of this little dog at an art show.  She was so cute!  Not groomed or brushed up, just a natural and very cute look.  Had to paint her.

This painting is for sale on auction at Daily Paintworks.

Pot on a Table Sketch 6 x 8 Graphite

This little sketch was done in my Tuesday art class.

I am making a point to draw more.  It would be to my advantage to practice with everyday things.

I have entered the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge on Leslie Saeta's blog, Slices of Life.  I'm a little late.  You know what they say, "better late than never."

I will be posting all my paintings on this blog and Slices of Life.  If I feel they are worthy I will post them on Daily Paintworks for auction.

Thanks for looking at my work.

"Honor and Devotion" by Bev Koldon, Arizona Artist

16x20 oil on canvas
Not for Sale

Big news!!! I won Best in Show with this painting at the Gilbert AZ Constitution Celebration. I wanted to show the emotional relationship between soldier and dog. I was given permission to use a photograph on Kevin Hanrahan's web site. Please visit his site and read about these amazing teams. He gives updates on deployed teams and their experiences. I don't think most of us understand the trust that has develop between these heroic partners.
Please visit his web site at: http://khanrahan.com/

The Best in Show prize was $250. I am donating 100% to US War Dog Assoc. If anyone would like a print of this painting or the original,  please let me know. Also, 100% of the sales of prints or the original will go to the same organization. Not sure of the print prices yet. Will keep you informed.

I entered this same painting in the Gilbert Visual Art League February 2014 Show.  I won the People's Choice Award.  I am thrilled with the response.

"Are You Ready?" impressionistic oil painting by Bev Koldon Arizona Fine Artist

This was just a fun little painting of a dog waiting for his owner.  Inspired by my dogs as well as everyone elses dogs who are just a bit impatient when it comes to their walks.  But who can resist the "take me for a walk" face.

Portrait of "Fat Boy" 8x10 oil on canvas (nfs)

This portrait is of a very special dog owned by my friend Barb.  He was a fun little guy with a personality to match.  Unfortunately Fat Boy passed away before his time.  He was an important part of Barb's life and now a very big piece of Barb's heart.  I hope this rememberance will comfort her and her family.

"Happiness in Color" Oil 18 x 18

"I'm Back!!"  It's been much too long since my last post.  I have been painting and learning more than I ever thought possible. I had the honor of earning "The Peoples' Choice Award" with this painting.  The enthusiasm it gave me was amazing.

My intention is to blog more often and share the good, the bad, and also my ugly paintings.  Hope you will come along on my journey.

"All Dressed Up" 10X10 Acrylic

It's been so long since I've posted to my blog.  I'm embarrassed!!  I have been painting though.  This is the latest painting.  An abstraction of a horse in very ornate riding gear.   This piece will be donated to the Mesa Art Center's 10x10 Show.  The show's held every year to benefit the Mesa Art Center.  The reception is always on October 10th. It's fun to see who selects your painting.  Not fun, if no one selects your painting!!

Some personal and household issues have needed attention.  Glad to be back in the swing with the paint brush.
